  • The tour was excellent. John our tour guide was so knowledgeable. It really was an excellent hour to walk the wall and to hear about the history of this fantastic city. #legenderry.
  • Our tour guide was John in the yellow jacket and he was wonderful: thorough in his information, thoughtful in his delivery and a delight to be around. Easily the best hour we spent in Derry during our stay and a beacon of an ambassador for a warm, storied city.
  • Arrived in Derry last week just in time to join the start of the tour. Our tour guide Dermot was great, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and witty. Very enjoyable tour, great history lesson and a good way to spend an hour for the small price of 4 quid. Free tea or coffee at the end of the tour also. Highly recommend this tour
  • Excellent introduction to the city. Best way of learning the City history. Totally unbiased information from tour guide. Good value.
  • While visiting NI I took a trip from Belfast to Derry/Londonderry on Tuesday 17th October and Booked a ticket to do the 12-00 Walk. We were met by a a very joyous and happy Guide John Luvly grey beard etc. After initial introductions we were off and what this guide didn’t know about the history etc of what he was pointing out wouldn’t be worth knowing.Everything was a highlight couldn’t pick one thing out above the rest as all was very very interesting and I came away with an in-depth knowledge of the history of Derry/Londonderry which I never knew. On finishing I would highly recommend anybody visiting the above “City” to take one of these highly interesting and humorous McCrossan Walks. I would have given 10stars if I could have. Scotsman from Carlisle in Cumbria.

Where to stay in Derry

Derry, or Londonderry, town center is a lively place to stay. Although the town itself suffered during the Troubles in Northern Ireland, the center stayed safe and has thrived. Consider an inn in the town center, perhaps a building painted with one of the well-known murals. less expensive hotels are available just outside the town's central area, close enough to the main attractions for convenient access.
