  • Beautiful house, grounds and the staff were exceptional. Our friend is disabled and they did their best for her to get back to the car park. This is not the place to visit if you are disabled, the car...  read more »
  • We love Bowood House and Gardens. Very interesting. What I find amazing in this day-and-age of over-the-top Health and Safety is, the Death Slide is still there. I'm not a spoil sport in any way, but ...  read more »
  • We went there as a family to attend a country fair. The approach through the grounds was a wonderful insight into how a country estate should and could be set out and run. As an aside it is a fair bet...  read more »
  • A flawless day out when the weather is nice. We went on the bank holiday Monday for the Farm day, glorious day out, plenty to do for the kids and its great to have such a nice area where they can simply run for miles whilst allowing the parents to relax at the same time. A great place for a picnic, with plenty of locations to go out and find around the grounds. At £36 for the four of us, you certainly get what you pay for if you spend the whole day there.
  • Brilliant day out. We went due to weather being changeable as it also has an indoor playcentre. The outdoor park is superb, some not for the faint hearted! There is a covered ball pit and petting area for more shelter. Facilities can be a bit of a walk away but they are well looked after. Will be back.
  • I confess to being a little disappointed with Bowood. It has wide open spaces in the parkland and Capability Brown's vision is clear. Totally brilliant place if you want to exhaust your children! But when somewhere is advertised as Bowood House and Gardens I expect to see a house not an orangery and outbuildings which is all that is left. The big house itself was demolished in the 1950's due to its advanced stage of decay. Behind the orangery there is an extensive stable range; these and the yard could be opened up to the public to add another view to the house in its heyday.
  • A refined and luxurious hotel. We were sipping cocktails, overlooking a herd of deer with flocks of swans and geese only a stone's throw away across the lawn. We walked around the expansive grounds, which we seemed to have all to ourselves. Rolling lawns, groves of trees, a secluded waterfall, an expansive lake. Just the place for a picturesque and romantic weekend getaway.
  • Absolutely beautiful venue, hotel and spa. I have provided flowers for many weddings held at Bowood and I'd highly recommend the venue. The staff are really helpful and you can really make the venue your own for your wedding day. The spa is amazing and I'd highly advise having a treatment whilst you're here! Ella - Flowers of Bath
