  • Took my nephew to the Tractor Ted weekend. He really enjoyed it. The highlight being the tractor ride around the beautiful Bowood estate. It was really nice. I enjoyed it too! Not much of the original Bowood House left but the Orangery is stunning. If you adore historic houses this may be a bit of a disappointment. But if you love landscapes and gardens then its nailed in abundance!
  • What an absolutely stunning place to visit. The gardens are immaculate, the childrens playground is exciting with particular emphasis on safety and the house itself is beautiful. Well done to everyone involved with making this venue a fabulous experience.
  • Excellent adventure playground for the kids, lovely Capability Brown landscaped grounds. The largest area of mown lawn in England (fact check required). Arrive early (check opening times) and bring a picnic so you don't get fleeced in the restaurant. A good day out for families. Recommended.
  • The entrance fee is astronomical considering what is on offer. While the grounds are large, for children there is really only the very small Tractor Ted farm area, an outdoor playground for older children, and a dreadful indoor soft play. (Despite being advertised for younger children, the minimal, limited area is very poorly designed with all climbing far too difficult for little legs. Much disappointment.) Despite the hefty fee, food inside is in no way subsidised, with a grotty school canteen-style 'restaurant' charging a ridiculous £11 for adults to eat sad, soggy-looking meagre plates. The alternative of cream teas are signposted everywhere inside, including on the tables, but when ordered are revealed to be only available after 2.30pm. (And even then, will charge you £6.50 for a pot of tea and slice of cake, which if bought separately would cost £4.50!) At half the price it would offer a limited morning or afternoon out, and you'd still want to bring your own food. But when it even charges £7.50 for under 4s, for whom there's almost nothing to do, it's just not worth the cost.
  • What an incredible playground!! My 8 year old and 3 year old had a great time at the Pirates and Princess weekend and the adults had fun too in giant inflatable balls and archery
