Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by MotorSport Vision, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038.Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship. Used as a military vehicle storage depot during World War II, it fell into disrepair until bought by local construction entrepreneur Tom Wheatcroft. Revived under his ownership in the 1970s, it hosted a single Formula One race, but became the favoured home of the British round of the MotoGP motorcycling championship.Leased by Donington Ventures Leisure Ltd in 2007 the hope that Formula One racing could return to the track, the incomplete venture failed to raise sufficient financial backing during the aftermath of the 2008 global financial crisis. DVLL consequently lost the rights to the British rounds of both Formula 1 and MotoGP, and in its bankruptcy returned the track to the Wheatcroft family in December 2009.Donington Park is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Derby Edition.

Donington Park Reviews
Came here with a good friend and his MX5 - had a whole day of track fun, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Being winter, there weren't too many other cars there - maybe 20, which was great. Onsite faciliti... more »

Brilliant place to visit. I've been here several times for track day events and various other occasions and I can't fault it. Now been updated and re-vamped with new restaurant, cafe, toilets etc. Plus internal roads have been resurfaced. Museum is worth a visit as it's a lot bigger than it looks and contains some iconic cars and lots of old wartime vehicles.
One of the best MSV circuits to watch motor racing. Able to walk almost all of the circuit. Loads of great vantage points. Staff did incredibly well keeping the circuit free of litter, frequent emptying of bins. Good refreshment building in keeping with the venue.
As a regular visitor I was pleased to see the improvements by MSV with new stands, toilets and restaurant. The restaurant was busy on the day I was there (Saturday) and would think this would be reflected with large crowds on main race days. The improvements to the roadways is great and will be a huge help in getting in and out of the park. Looking forward to continued improvements and many more visits.
Great place for great racing but be warned, there lots of walking and an open space. Foods a little expensive but it's a race circuit and it's expected. If you visit be sure to walk to the museum. It's a totally amazing place with steeps of history and great cars. I go in my dinner time. Tad expensive to get in but there's usually a discount on ticket for the event you just came to see. There's also war machines I there too. Easy to get in and out of, close to the motorway. I love it.
I love this race circuit! Facilities are good with plenty of W.C dotted over the site. I would recommend the in field area for viewing as there are sections unspoilt by the catch fencing. It's a good walk too. However the cafe is basic and expensive.
