Dent Village Museum and Heritage Centre
At the Dent Heritage Centre & Museum visitors will find a wealth of information on the working lives and social customs of the Dales folk who inhabited this beautiful area in times past.Use our Dent trip app to arrange your visit to Dent Village Museum and Heritage Centre and other attractions in Dent.
The centre itself has been designed and built entirely by local labour, being beautifully converted and extended on the site of an existing structure which once served as the filling-station for Dent town, and contains the museum, coffee shop with free wifi, and local cottage crafts for sale.
Most of the exhibits are of genuine Dales' provenance, a large number of them being taken from the collection of Jim and Margaret Taylor of High Laning Farm, the centre’s founders, who have spent many years rescuing and refurbishing many of the traditional artefacts on display.

Well what a find. Whole crowd of us relived memories of our childhood and identified kitchen and farming stuff from our youth. Lots of stuff and a delightful girl to explain all and take our money. Moderately priced and an enjoyable experience. Thank you

Excellent display off artefacts and history of Dent, Dentdale, dales farming family history, plus Dentdale life & household memorabilia through several generations. Small entry fee, but worth every penny. Visitors and locals equally welcome. Teas, coffees and cakes also available. Recommended.

Small but packed with information exhibits. Fascinating but not very child friendly.
