Inspirock Rating:
4.9/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web
Inspired by the Arts and Crafts and Art Deco design movements, Coleton Fishacre is the epitome of fine craftsmanship and style. The house has been featured twice in Country Life magazine as the ideal in tasteful country living. The property extends all the way to the nearby sea and includes exotic gardens planted by the house's first owner, Lady Dorothy Carte. In fact, Lady Carte hired a staff of six to care for the gardens while there were only four staff members for the house. Purchase tickets  on site from the National Trust staff. • There's Art in this Deco Property. A normal visit during the day is great. the gardens are wonderful, the views spectacular, the hills are steep and the flowers when they are out are beautiful. Great restaurant with some great food. NT have really stepped up their game which is great. However, if you're lucky and keep an eye out for the extra-curricular activities. You may be in for a real treat. How about, a murder mystery cocktail evening. Where EVERYONE dresses for the occasion and you get your sleuthing books out to solve the murder or indeed murders? A brilliant location and well worth a lengthy visit. You'll love it.
  • An interesting house with beautiful gardens going down towards the sea. The café serves good food too. Nice circular walks around the coast path for the more adventurous.
  • We just spent a sunny day there today and it was fantastic. The bluebells and garlic flowers were everywhere and everything looked really beautiful. So much to look at and having the garden on lots of different levels keeps it interesting. The views of the sea at the top of the garden were fabulous.
  • A real retro house amazing fantastic gardens, grounds and lovely walks, Cliff top views were beautiful
  • A beautiful place that is well looked after, a must see for the wonderful house and it's gardens.
