  • Stopped here for a visit this time, we have passed it before and never went in, I don't know why but it seems to be easily overlooked. Don't overlook it though, we arrived early and took to the hill a...  more »
  • The house is beautifully set in stunning grounds just outside Cupar. We found the guides to be really well informed and we enjoyed our tour of the house. Its just a pity that the entrance was not more...  more »
  • Really interesting house. Nice length walks around about
  • This is my favourite NTS property! Spend a day here exploring the house and gardens, have lunch in the first class tea room then play golf on site!
  • Great walks
  • Wonderful place to stay. Just 2 miles from the train station in Cupar so you can visit Edinburgh or Glasgow. Short drive to St. Andrews. Bit longer drive to Stirling. Lovely cottages for a holiday and grounds to stroll through. Or walk to Ceres, just a mile away to visit the Ceres Inn or the hotel for a meal and a drink. Or take an 8 mile drive to the Scottish Deer Park for a great day watching the animals.
  • This review was not aimed at the mansion, since we only see the main room (very tempting, by the way) from the reception, this review was on the hill that gives its name to the mansion: Hill of Tarvit. Access is from the parking lot. Ben quickly threaded right and quite pending up to the Monument on the Summit (211m). Without being the most dramatic of the hills in the area, the views are splendid, especially towards the South, East and West, give faith of this soft, undulating green spotted and Scotland and ochre of the fields (if you go in August, of course!) in the region of Fife, reminiscent of the English countryside. In the North, the town of Cupar. The descent is done by a bosquet mixture of beech, Scots pine and other beautiful trees. Link to this path with the path that borders the mansion behind and to the East, there are interesting things to discover.
