  • I visit here about once a year, should go more often, and always enjoy a walk around the various animal pens and the pond. There is a cafe though I have not used it. Some attractions for kids too.  more »
  • Great place to take the kids I have been going for years and it's free which you don't see these days.  more »
  • A good free day out that the kids really enjoyed. A nice place for a picnic, a great swing park, the kids love the zip slide. Not a big selection of animals though....  more »

  • Great way to see animals, good outdoor play area and basic cafe. Can get busy in summer months.
  • A lot of the paddocks are empty now but there are still a few domesticated animals, sheep, goats, chickens etc. to amuse the kids. The play area can be very busy but then again there is no cost to enter the park so if the sun shines it will soon fill up. The cafeteria and shop come in handy and don't forget there is an 18 hole golf course attached.
  • Great park, lots to do. Go earlyish and buy some feed from the centre so the kids can feed the animals, they had run it by the time we were there in the afternoon. Kids had a great time.
  • Some animals to look at and a gentle walk for anyone with a pram. It now time for NLC to put more time into the‚Äč place. It looks like they have started; as of June '17, the tree top walkway was nearing completion of it's re-fit. Hopefully they keep going with the rest if. At the very least, get rid of the weeds, you have a parks department at your disposal! Incidentally, one of the male goats in the "Boy Zone" animal pen pee's on his own beard. Not sure how, but there you go!
  • A shadow of its former self. Decades of being neglected has reduced this place to a shadow of the park in the 80s or 90s. Hardly any animals, only thing to recommend it for is a bit of nature walk for young kids. Honestly, give it a miss. Go to Calder Glen instead.
