We have taken our daughter a few times to climb the windmill and each visitor to our home too. It is a gem in Shirley and staffed by some lovely people who have a lot of local knowledge

Is a beautiful windmill, perfectly conserved, great to visit, unfortunately is close during winter.
One of only four windmills open to the public in greater London, Shirley windmill is owned by Croydon council and opened and run by The Friends of Shirley Windmill. The mill is open to the public on the first Sunday of the month from June to October from 1pm to 5pm as well as National Mills day and Open House day from 12noon until 5pm. Refreshments teas and cakes available at the visitors centre.
