Really pleasant little zoo. The animal enclosures are set amongst trees which makes it seem you could be in the Amazon. They clearly care a lot about welfare and the animals all look healthy. Highlights are the big cats and the reptile house. Also good indoor and outdoor play areas make it interesting all day for kids. Admission cost seemed reasonable for what's there.
Really cute little zoo. Me and my partner paid £23 admission for the both of us and I feel that this is very good value for a great few hours. The whole place has a very natural and pleasant setting and its obvious that they really care for the welfare of the animals and that they are happy and in good condition, and many of the smaller animals are given freedom around the whole park which is nice to see. Highlights were the big cats and the Spider monkeys and the staff were very knowledgable and able to tell us anything we wanted to know about them. People are saying about the fact that some of the creatures have small enclosures but they seem to be very content and I believe its made up for by the fact that the zoo is very quaint and pretty quiet which probably makes for a healthier and more peaceful environment for them. Definitely worth the admission price, thanks for a great and interesting day out.
Firstly we arrived at 14.30 only an hour before they close at 15.30. I asked if they had a late arrival discount. The very short answer was no. So we decided to pay £23 for the 2 of us for one hour. This is a lot for what is there. The whole site is very very muddy now it has been raining a lot but in places it was treacherous. They need to do something about this. The animals that are there are good although the enclosures seem quite small. The highlight for me and the reason it got 3 stars not 2 were the big cats. The pumas and jaguars are amazing and I have never been so close to them anywhere. There were no refreshments open anywhere which was also a big disappointment. Come on guys you really can and need to do a lot better than this. We saw 4 other people in the whole hour we were there so you are not really drawing the crowds are you.
Very nice zoo, well organised and quite tidy. My boys enjoyed it a lot.
Just spent a lovely afternoon at Amazona Zoo. Although the big cats were in very small enclosures, they seemed very content and in brilliant condition (as were all the animals). We were particularly impressed by the restaurant and staff - food was very reasonably priced and the staff were quick to clear and clean tables. Keepers were very knowledgeable and ready to answer questions when feeding the animals, however, would someone please tell the very nice keeper who feeds the otter that there are "t"s in the word otter!
