  • A brilliant site for a castle, dominating today's Criccieth. Building started way back in 1230 ish, was strengthened but then captured by Edward I and really developed, and Edward II and III also made...  more »
  • Beautiful views for the castle and a nice information centre with things to do. Had an enjoyable time with my daughter. Well maintained area and worth a visit.  more »

  • Stunning panoramic views at the very head of the Cambrian bay. Newly renovated shop, cafe and toilets. Great beaches, ice cream, fish and chips. A really pretty old fashioned place well worth a visit or stay.
  • Nice old ruined castle with wonderful views from summit although walk to top is steep. When we visited in April 2017 the visitor shop was being refurbished so entry was free although this is not normally the case. CADW website is up to date with information on when the shop may reopen. Can be a little windy at top and is exposed to the elements so be wary and kids need to be supervised as this is an old monument.
  • Great little castle, small gift and tea shop with small indoor exhibit. Not the biggest castle in the area by any means but Criccieth is beautiful with great views up and down the coast.
  • Stunning castle location with interesting exhibition. Lovely views across the bay and towards Harlech Castle. Added bonus of dolphins below the castle if you are lucky!
  • Great views over Criccieth and the bay looking over to Harlech castle. Not alot of information provide inside the castle, however out of season entry is free. The visitors centre is currently being refurbished so may have better information and guides once it re-opens.
