Knowlton Church and Earthworks Reviews
Worth a visit, good history, Allow half an hour unless going for a picnic watch out for mud in wet weather. Local pubs nearby. more »
This is a lovely piece of histroy. You will only need about 15 minutes here. Id say its worth going to if you are pasing by. The norman church ruins do look very good and are well looked after. more »
Its not unique but its rare to find such a complete example of faith stamping. Not much information on site and most definitely one for a dry visit. Parking is quite limited but free. more »
My favorite place in the world. Steeped in history, lovely views, nice and quiet. You can't beat it. Parking is sometime a squeeze as there is only a few spaces on the road. Beautiful yew trews, and so many henges nearby (some almost invisible)
I cycled there this morning after seeing a photo on Instagram, what an amazing place. It had an incredible atmosphere with no ne else around.
Lovely place in beautiful country side. Plenty of history stretching back over 4500 years. The is some interesting graffiti from ww2 and the Victorian era. Only downside is there can be quite a bit of dog mess around so keep your eyes open especially if you have kids. Great place to visit for a coffee stop or for a good walk around, well worth it if you are nearby.
Knowlton Church and Earthworks is a lovely place to go and relax, especially good early on a spring/summer morning when the wild flowers are in bloom and there aren't many people about. there is room for 3 maybe 4 cars to park in the small lay-by in front of the gate, its also worth exploring some of the pretty villages that surround it.
Beautiful location with lots of history & mystery. Perfect for photography & walking the dog.
