  • Visited in July 2016 whilst staying with friends. Incredibly interesting with a very knowledgeable guide. Very well worth a visit (no spoilers in this review, but you will definitely learn something) :-D
  • The museum is situated in the breathtakingly-beautiful place. It has both excellent indoor and outdoor parts that are really worth visiting. Staff are professional and friendly. To sum up, the museum provides a good introduction to the mining history of England in a pleasant way.
  • We spent 4 hours there it was amazing you are advised to wear warm clothing one part of the tour is actually in the mine you are kitted out with wellington boots and I thought mine were leaking it was so cold but don't be put off our guide Liz was so enthusiastic and made it all very interesting but there is so much more to see red squirrels waterwheels all the old machinery and every member of staff so helpful lovely cafe and plenty of parking the surrounding scenery is also a Kodak moment I urge you not to miss this step back in time cheers mo
  • It was all amazing from the cafe to the mine I would definitely go again. I also found lots of gems. The staff are very helpful too.
  • Very good day out. The tour was good, mind your head! The exhibition of spar boxes was really good. Fantastic objects. We saw red squirrels which was a good bonus. Cafe is very good. Lots of tasty home cooked food.
