  • Great museum if you're into geology, rocks and minerals. Small but a fab selection of stones in an unusual location. Really good gift shop after the museum with some unusual specimens. If you're not into geology, then the £5 entrance fee will probably put you off.
  • A must see in the area, highly recommended. If you like gems, the gift shop in place will stop you for a good while, plenty of items to choose from.
  • Not exactly what we expected. Our kids were disappointed with what they've seen.
  • Great if you're a lover of fossils and precious stones. Entrance is only £5 per person, less for children. And there is a great gift shop at the end.
  • Cool place for science fans. Great for families with kids and school groups

Where to stay in Fort William

A B&B along the high street provides access to pubs and cultural life. However, luxury hotels set among idyllic countryside are outside the city center. Consider a stay inside a refurbished historical building at one of the handful of guesthouses. less expensive lodging is also available in scenic areas within walking distance of the high street, or main street.
