  • Nice place anytime of the year. Kids can feed the ducks, plenty of open space for them to let off steam. Lovely for a picnic.  more »

  • Stayed here for Cookstown 100 road races.very basic campsite. Toilets and showers where clean but old, could do with renovation. No toilet roll early Saturday morning (about 6). Hard to find a flat level site , even for my small hike tent. Throw in poor drainage and the only place suitable a tractor had driven across it. Was like sleeping on corrugated iron.Way to expensive for what you get.
  • In need of a little Park maintenance, has good layout and could be stunning. Lakes, trees, ruins, walled gardens, grass land, streams. Public toilets, kids play area, ample parking. Parking is expensive.
  • Amazing place. Lovely for family day out.
  • Beautiful park take some time and enjoy the scenery
  • We arrived at the forest park after visiting the nearby (excellent) Wellbrook Beetling Mill. However, on arrival there were no staff there whatsoever, the place was completely deserted. We were able to open the gates ourselves and drive through onto the main camping area. Once there, again there was no-one about, however the 'doghnut rings' from cars around the entire area, litter and remnants of fire did not bode well. We decided to use the toilets whilst making a decision on whether to stay there - they were damp and unclean. Having seen more evidence that perhaps the site would be unsavoury (lots of beer bottles etc) we decided to leave for another site. The forest itself is lovely, and for walks a very nice spot. But I wouldn't camp here at all.
