Smallest House in Britain, Conwy

Visit the 3.05 m by 1.8 m (10 ft by 6 ft) Smallest House in Britain, the former home of Robert Jones. Jones was a fisherman, and he stood, ironically, over six feet tall. He left the house in 1900 because the government deemed it unsuitable to live in. Mind your head as you explore the tiny interior and poke your head up to see the second floor, only large enough for a bed and a small nightstand. Chat with the lady outside dressed in traditional Welsh garb. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Conwy holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Smallest House in Britain and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • A great little find for just £1 for adults to go inside. Unbelievable to see how people managed to live there. Kids really enjoy this.  more »

  • Worth a visit. Interesting. Only a few allowed in at a time, it's small! (Hence the name!) 😉 Pay a small fee, go inside hear a prerecorded information about its history. Take a look upstairs. Take a picture with lady dressed in Welsh costume outside. Can be long queues at busy times. Only open during tourist season. Can still take pictures outside out of season though. Good place to take visitors.
  • We visited the Smallest House in Great Britain when we are in North Wales. Unfortunately when we reached there is was closed, so couldn't not get in. It looks apart from the row of terraced houses which it sits among. It is near the seaside so the surrounding area is lovely as well.
  • If you are in the area you have to visit this place. It's not exactly going to take up a large chunk of your day. It's tiny but amazingly interesting. Learn about the over 6ft fisherman that used to live here about 120 years ago. Also it's in the Guinness book of records.
  • Visited the smallest house 2 weeks ago. A lovely lady in costume standing outside tellsyou the history which is very interesting. The house is tiny with lots home comforts inside. Worth a visit.
  • Amazing little house in a beautiful welsh seaside town. Well worth a visit, it doesn't take long but it worth the small entrance fee.. Leas than a £1 each :-)
