(4.9/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Visit the medieval world’s answer to sophisticated government defense at Conwy Town Walls. Walk along the walls for less than 1.6 km (1 mi), then tour the full structure and inspect its 12 towers, three gate houses, 480 firing positions, and 12 ancient latrines. The walls date to 1287 and were among the most expensive installations of the time. They served to protect Conway Castle, which they did through several rebellions. • It is well worth walking around the town walls if ever you visit Conwy. It is free and has great views. Combine it with the castle for a great experience.  more »
  • We decided to do the Conwy Town Walls walk. It takes about 30 minutes if you stop to look out at the views on offer. If you don't like heights then I wouldn't recommend you do this walk. And ladies do...  more »
  • Stopped for the afternoon on the way to the ferry to Ireland. Took my teenagers up on the walls, and they enjoyed the sights, history and the climbing.  more »

  • You can walk about three quarters of the way around the old walled town of Conwy (with a brief interuption) on the walls. It's definitely worth the walk. You can start either down by the water or over at the castle. Be sure to ascend to the top of the corner tower to get a great view of the town and castle.
  • All part of the Conwy experience, after visiting the castle, the knight shop and the harbour, continue with a walk around the town walls to get back to the car park. Lots of photo opportunities and a lovely distant view of the castle.
  • Take a walk around the town walls to take in the full magic of Conwy, leading from the castle right around to the harbour you will get to enjoy breathtaking views missed from street level. The walls are free and a great escape from the hussle and bussle of the pavements
  • Amazing city walls. They just seem to go on forever!
  • Fantastic view of the castle, city, and surrounding countryside!
