Visit the medieval world’s answer to sophisticated government defense at Conwy Town Walls. Walk along the walls for less than 1.6 km (1 mi), then tour the full structure and inspect its 12 towers, three gate houses, 480 firing positions, and 12 ancient latrines. The walls date to 1287 and were among the most expensive installations of the time. They served to protect Conway Castle, which they did through several rebellions.
