  • This was a nice castle adventure. It is small so allow for an hour or two to see everything. Inside the grounds are some flat grassy areas for a picnic. The keep itself has quite a few stairs so be prepared to climb to reach the top. Once you are at the top, be prepared for some great views that are all narrated for you via signs. It can get windy up there so watch those hats and hair pieces! Parking lot is down below and free. Gift shop is nice so pick up your magnet and guide book! Have fun!!!
  • Loved this little gem of a castle. A great example right on our doorstep. Great few hours spent learning about history and our Son loved painting and drawing his shield. Great selection of items for sale in the shop albeit a bit pricy but still a good selection for the kids pocket money.
  • It's a nice place to go visit but you will have to be moderately physically fit to climb all the stairs to the top. There isn't much to see with only seasonal activities that are far and few in between. The 'shop/Museum' is cute but you do get the feeling the site is underdeveloped and they could do more for tourists. It is however a lovely site to visit with nice grounds to picnic on. There is no dedicated picnic area so you will need a blanket to sit on the grass. I would not recommend the site for people who are disabled as it is not disabled person friendly however if you want a quick thing to do with your children that is mildly educational and to burn some energy then this is a good place to go.
  • Superb stone Castle dating back to the 11th century. The keep is the main attraction and you can climb it too. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.
  • A small exhibition explained the history of the building and there are interesting videos throughout the floors of the tower. Steps get steep and shallow, so care is required. Big views from the top.
