  • One of the better English Heritage sites. A lot of care and attention has gone into providing information on the site to help bring the place to life. Some great views from the top of the tower too.
  • Cool little castle. Not massive but a enough for a hours walk round. Big tower to explore which as some good views. Always feel that English heritage need to put more information as you go round it tho, however this place had some projected story tellers which is good for kids.
  • A Marvellous ancient site rich with history - excellent visitors centre. A very intact early Norman castle with its keep fully in place. Unique!
  • Interesting place. The keep must be one of the highest, intact ones in UK. Recent replacement floors added. A walk up all the steps is worth it to get a 360 degrees view from the top.
  • Very picturesque castle , standing on the highpoint around , looking out over the town , Little in the way of gardens and grounds , but a great place to visit all the same, defiantly worth a visit if you are in the area
