Eirias Park is a 50acre public park in Colwyn Bay, Conwy County Borough, Wales, sometimes described as "The park by the sea".Situated within the park is the Colwyn Leisure Centre, whose facilities include a six-lane 25-metre swimming/leisure pool with various water features and a separate water slide. There is also a fitness suite, health suite, sauna, steam room and warm spa pool. Additional facilities include indoor and outdoor tennis courts, bowling greens, boating lake, children's playground and picnic area.Eirias StadiumEirias Stadium is a rugby union stadium that is part of the outdoor complex of the Eirias Events Centre. The stadium had been used for low key community sporting events, until its redevelopment in 2011, where it now can host international televised events. The original Stadium pre 2011, had been used for various sporting events. Colwyn Bay F.C. had played on three different grounds at Eirias Park during their history. The Arena was a temporary home during the early 1980s prior to the club's move to their present Llanelian Road home ground. In 2008 the park had been identified by the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) as a venue for the newly founded rugby union team RGC 1404. The team was initially planning to join the Welsh Premiership, with an eventual goal of becoming the fifth Welsh rugby region, for domestic and European tournaments. In light of this, the park were in need of a number of improvements that reaches international standard and so that it can be officially considered a stadium. In January 2010, the proposed redevelopment was approved by the local council, with work starting later that year.

  • The park could have so much potential as it is a big green belt. Shame that the boating lake isn't used as a " boating lake ". They could put lots of things here but money isn't being put in to it. A huge waste really on the whole area. Could be a great place
  • Glorious relaxing place. Cafe in the leisure centre. Watch the wildfowl on the lake
  • A public park that feels safe and is family friendly. A well equipped playground that caters for all ages, as well as an enclosed area that is well worth exploring and creating an adventure in. An old boating lake that is now home to ducks and swans (to feed if you are allowed to)? The park as others have noted could do with some extra care BUT there is nature and there is beauty to be found. I hope that my pictures give an honest impression both of the natural surroundings and of the changing seasons. The ponds although not very large support a variety of wildlife. The addition of some reed beds in the larger old boating lake has added to the variety of birds and I time will attract other creatures. The leasure centre has toilets and a cafĂ©, lower down the park towards the bowls green and the tennis courts there is a kiosk that sells ice cream and others eats. Also in that direction and lower down again is Porth Eirias, the front, the beach and the prom. It has taken me a while to discover all of the hidden paths, dells and clearings in the park. The park maybe small, in need of care and the amenities may not be perfect but the park has beauty if only you are willing to explore.
  • Delicious food served fast. Kind staff all around
  • run down park. needs somthing doing with it. as a child it was the place to be. now it's the place to avoid
