Ideally park at Ball Grove and walk in (hopefully on a nice day) It's a piece of local history not to be missed and if you time it right there's a nice cafĂ©!  more »
  • Lovely visit and stroll around the park on a warm April weekend. Very busy with walkers and children playing in the shallow river. Enjoyed an ice cream at the nearby tea room.
  • A great base for walks of varying difficulties including the circular walk up Boulsworth if you're up to it! The hall is suitably atmospheric and the aisled barn and cafe with traditional range mean there is plenty to do.
  • A wonderful place full of memories for us as we used to visit here every May bank holiday in the late 90s/early 2000s when we were kids. Came back here in 2016 for a walk with our dad as an early birthday day out. Seems that it is mostly shut up on Mondays and Tuesdays so visit later in the week. I saw a woodpecker from the visitors barn which was great. I think it could do with more investment to help preserve the area better. Well worth a visit for lovely walks, to visit the ruins of the old buildings and see the old village -it's very atmospheric!
  • Beautiful spot. Lovely walks nearby
  • What a lovely place to visit. We went on a beautiful sunny day which was a perfect day to walk the short walk to the village. We also walked the route around the cafe. Our dog Henry loved playing in the water. Our daughter enjoyed reading all the informative notices which illustrated the various types of flowers, pond life etc.. The cafe is reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. Its def worth a visit and we will almost certainly be returning again.
