Where to stay in Colchester

A short train ride from London, Colchester is a university and working town. Hotels in the town center are near the main attractions, but for less expensive lodging consider a room near the university campus, which is situated in a tree-filled parkland.

  • One of my favourite Colchester cafĂ©s - nice bright indoor space, art on the walls, with small children's area with crayons etc. Outside has a lovely spacious garden. Very kid friendly, food is great, prices reasonable.
