This seems to be where the good people of Clitheroe go on New Years Eve. It's a great atmosphere and you can watch three and sixty degree fireworks as every small part of Clitheroe seems to have it's ... more »

A lovely morning at the castle museum with my grandchildren aged 8 & 5 searching for dragons- a clever way to take young visitors through the museum. The children were very interested in the varied ex... more »
What a lovely afternoon out! The castle tiny but it's everything you'd expect of an historic building and it's set in beautiful grounds with an amazing view. The museum is great for kids - they even get to play an explorer game while they look around which makes it a lot more fun - my husband and I got involved too. The price for the museum is fair and worth it, considering the castle as a whole. The art gallery was tiny but actually a lot more interesting than I expected - I just wish I had the money to buy some of the amazing pieces. The cafe was bright, clean and oh, the food! - at first I was like "£6.75 for a sandwich?!" but it was easily the best sandwich I've ever had and the accompaniments were filling and delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout and the gift shop was reasonably priced. There's even a kids playground so you can literally spend hours here, which is far more than I expected. Honestly a pleasant surprise, a great find and a fab family outing!
What a wonderful day..recommend it here!! If you are fit to walk up hills! Ha ha
Admission £4.10. It was interesting to learn more about Clitheroe's past but the best thing about the Museum was the castle and grounds and you can explore them for free.
Beautiful example of a castle
