Clachtoll Beach Campsite, Clachtoll

(4.9/5 based on 30+ reviews on the web)
Nestled in a rocky bay and surrounded by moorland, Clachtoll Beach Campsite boasts white sand and turquoise water that seems to belong more to the Mediterranean than the Scottish highlands. Stroll along the fine sand, fish off the craggy rock formations, or take a kayak out on the water. Keep an eye out for the pods of dolphins that regularly swim by or the otters and seals which play by the shoreline. Also watch for more infrequent visitors such as minke whales, basking sharks, and porpoise. At the campsite just behind the beach, you will find a shop and other amenities. After spending time on the beach, consider launching an exhibition to the surrounding hills and coastline with its sweeping views and dramatic cliffs. • Really lovely sandy beach which is very close to the Clachtoll Campsite I stayed at, so enjoyed walking down to this beach to enjoy the sea views.
  • This is only a tiny beach but the views are gorgeous specially during sunset.great walks, fishing&swimming(with wetsuit of course but adaptable during warm days)!...

  • Great location and facilities. Will definitely return. The main beach is close however you can explore a bit and find secluded beaches. Fishing from the rocks is very good.
  • Great location. Basic facilities available for campers: water, electric hook-ups, showers, hot drinks machine and laundry facilities. All well maintained. Very helpful and laid back owners of the site are usually onsite most of the day. There is also a small shop, independently run that sells basics like tea bags, bread, drinks, biscuits and snacks. You are allowed to light small fires on your pitch provided you ensure you don't damage the ground. Beach is a minute's walk from the site. Good place to base yourself for some solitary hiking around the coast, through the tiny crofting communities and gorgeous landscape. Families with kids, dogs and camper vans also welcome.
  • Really loved it . It is basic but we'll kept and looked after lovely people and seanary still light at 12.00 at night.lovely sun sets. Wow.
  • Very well run and quiet site, facilities are constantly being cleaned to a good standard and the pitches are of a good size, enough to get a campervan with an awning and a car in. Really enjoyed our night there whilst touring Scotland.
  • Awesome beach location! Well run and ample amenities and Flossie's the onsite store/cafe, well stocked and fab food. Very enjoyable stay and you will arrive with a very warm welcome.
