Disappointed!!! and felt oversold by website. Found it to be very peaceful but almost felt as though it was just the owners trying to upkeep it but understand there to be a couple of full time gardeners plus some part time staff. Felt planting to be disjointed and evidence of lots of weeds....no real sense of cohesion. Sorry but having been really looking forward to my visit(June) was extremely disappointed as was my sister!! Refreshments self service!!!
Beautiful walled garden filled with scented roses, fruit trees and natural drifts of perennials. One of those gardens that has the X factor; a combination of sense of place, birdsong and restfulness with a quirkiness provided by the giant roman snails !
Very interesting gardens, not particularly good for people in wheelchairs but the lady we met was very helpful.
A fine example of an English country garden currently blanketed in snowdrops.
