  • What a delightful garden...tucked away and secluded. It almost seems as if time has stopped here, you can forget the world and mooch about. Finishing off with a lovely cup of tea and cake. We'll be ba...  more »
  • The residence, built in 1660, was a development of a wealthy family. It is a House with Georgian architecture. Easy style in the United States, but hard to find in England. In the second World War, the family moved to the top floor, the House was used as a hospital for wounded soldiers. Today it works exclusively as a residence and is not open to the public. The gardens are a delight to higher walk. Manicured gardens, gardeners extremely helpful and polite, beja and a distinctive ring landscape layout in cultivation. Adopt organic gardening and have diverse culinary and medicinal herbs. I had a refreshing and calm morning walking among the plants. I took some great photos, traded information with the maintenance. I enjoyed it all with pretty calm when they beat hunger was already lunchtime, I said farewell to the scene with the feeling that the day had been worth it. Recommend a visit!

  • Disappointed!!! and felt oversold by website. Found it to be very peaceful but almost felt as though it was just the owners trying to upkeep it but understand there to be a couple of full time gardeners plus some part time staff. Felt planting to be disjointed and evidence of lots of weeds....no real sense of cohesion. Sorry but having been really looking forward to my visit(June) was extremely disappointed as was my sister!! Refreshments self service!!!
  • Beautiful walled garden filled with scented roses, fruit trees and natural drifts of perennials. One of those gardens that has the X factor; a combination of sense of place, birdsong and restfulness with a quirkiness provided by the giant roman snails !
  • A fine example of an English country garden currently blanketed in snowdrops.
  • Very interesting gardens, not particularly good for people in wheelchairs but the lady we met was very helpful.
