  • The first impression is to return in an episode of the detective series "Inspector Barnaby" both alignment of houses in the High Street (High street), this specific urban setting, where all is calm on the surface, behind the curtains wisely drawn, akin instead of shooting. Plot point however on the horizon, no priori body, simply, feel to have found here the "Midsomer Murders" light lining, the title of the British series vo. Chipping Campden is a concentrate of what the series presents us with all the elements in place, including these very beautiful covered market halls dating from the seventeenth century. Then just push a little further curiosity and to enter a few shops to have confirmation that the inhabitants are very authentic and that they are not the Extras placed there to look pretty. Chipping Campden is a living postcard, like other villages of the Cotswolds, this beautiful green hilly area that it symbolizes beautifully. It's very british, so cute, so nice!

  • Unique, lovely, individual village, with no town cloning whatsoever, plenty of local shops/traders, with no sign of the usual high street cloning. Well worth a visit.
  • Amazing 600 year old market in the middle of a medieval square which still holds markets! Worth seeing!
  • Good historical place
  • Just a short drive north of Broadway Tower is Chipping Camden, one of the prettiest market towns I manage to visit while road tripping through Cotswold. It's already evening when I got here so a stroll close to sunset was quite refreshing. Chipping Camden is actually a pretty town to spend the night. It's quite a treat to be able to live in the old market town and be in close proximity to beautiful gardens and fields such as Hidcote Manor and Snowshill. It's also the start/end point of the Cotswold Way, a hiking trail that stretches 102-miles along the Cotswold all the way to Bath. One of the best part about old English towns such as Cipping Camden is that the Main Street is lined with shops in limestone terraces. The unique thing I felt about it is that each terrace is unique and differs from the one next door so that it creates a sense of diversity yet contain some uniformity. The High Street particularly in Chipping Campden is particular picturesque. Start from this historic Market Hall and walk down the long street!
