  • I've often past the town of Chesterfield and seen the twisted spire of the church but this was the first time I visited it! It has a very welcome feel to it and includes a gift shop! I was delighted that there was a group of school children being shown round on the day we visited! It is almost cathedral like inside as it is so big. I liked the huge Parish chest and the very old font which is Saxon. The guide is in an easy to read form, well suited for children. So now I know why the spire twisted but I'm not going to tell you because I want you to go in and find out for yourself! 😊
  • This is a special place for me as I grew up in the area so I've had a trip down memory lane and I'm so pleased to say that things haven't changed much. Derbyshire is still fabulous with great walks, views, food and villages. Chesterfield is still the lovely market town. The best bit of all is the people of Derbyshire, they are so warm and friendly and I do miss them so much. Great to be back home for a visit.
  • The Crooked Spire. Go for a guided tour up the spire - see the bells and walk around the base of the spire and get an amazing view. Phone the church for tour times.
  • Incredible place to visit. The spire, yes it is crooked, is old woodwork that has twisted over the years and has now become an historical building and not only a religious building. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, and the guided tour is well worth it. The church is a must to visit, if you are in the city, to gain photographs of the spire or just to pray in the tranquil atmosphere of the church
  • Very friendly people there. Explained about the crooked and bent spire. We'll worth a visit.
