  • Great place for a picnic & walk. Lovely grounds, great play area for kids & very central for a walk into town. Only downside is parking.  more »

  • Well maintained park between city centre and riverfront, playground for children and a ride-on miniature railway. Toilets plus accessible toilets and changing places room. Landscaped, with flower beds and a range of trees. Great for a picnic. don't forget the squirrels!
  • They have done a lot of renovation to the Park in light of lottery funding; where locals were a bit concerned incase main features of the Park were affected. However the character of the Park has been maintained. The Park lodge cafe is worth going into-it can get busy at weekends. The Activities hut is a great addition which has led to events being put on in the Park. The pond has been cleaned up a lot. The children's playground is a useful section and can also easily be avoided if that isn't your thing. My only gripe is the grey squirrels- there should be more management of these rodents and I wish visitors wouldn't feed them!
  • Beautiful park well maintained but I don't think there are enough activities for people. The little railway is rubbish. Food drink and ice cream are all over priced and not really worth paying for. For example, a magnum ice cream at the park £3.10 in my local store the same ice cream £1.10 I would call it extortion
  • A lovely historic park with beautiful flowers and fantastic views over the River Dee. A trip on the miniature railway is must when visiting the park. The staff are very friendly and the pleasure of having a ride on a miniature train is something that everyone enjoys.
  • Lovely park in the centre of Chester with romantic ruins and a walk to the river. A place where children can feed the squirrels of and go on a steam train beautiful
