  • Enjoyed visiting this small castle in such a cute town then we went to grab dinner at the Boat Inn. Good food and great beer. We enjoyed the evening very much!  more »
  • Great for school holiday trips, kids enjoyed it and amazing views from the turrets. Highly recommend it,  more »
  • You get about what you pay for. Lovely views, well maintained and signposted but little more than that. Best to visit on an event day of which there are many.  more »

  • A very impressive old castle with lots of views and areas of beauty. Your able to walk around almost every part of the old castle giving a very inclusive feeling and there are a good number of information boards explaining what different areas are. It has a relaxed feel like you strolling round a park with no rush to get you in and back out
  • Lovely castle, but access is up a fairly steep hill on foot, and the castle walk through has a small uphill gradient too. Small car park outside, but more options available nearby. Lovely views over the river.
  • Must see castle in the UK. This castle is one of the best, it's the perfect balance of untouched and restored. Use you imagination to see what it would have looked like but with many of the original rooms and battlements preserved. I have been here dozens of times and it never gets old.
  • This is another great place to visit - in particular if you are interested in the heritage of england and wales and love to go and see old castles. Chepstow castle is beautiful and there is lots to see. We went there with our young kids and they loved it too - their fantasy was set alight picturing themselves as the Princess of the castle or the noble knight who had to defend the castle from the oncoming enemy. This is a great place to visit and for old and young. You can park in the city and walk there easily whilst you can take in the scenery whilst doing so. Parking close by is also possibly but a little pricier.
  • Beautiful castle ruins with gorgeous scenery! A lovely river next to it and it wasn't too crowded. The whole area around the castle is also lovely.
