  • Fascinating history from 800 years ago.. little gift shop on site.. there is pictures dotted around showing what certain areas would've looked like 'back in the day'. Highly recommend visiting here.
  • Left derelict after the reformation, the plan of the old Abbey is still cleary visible. Must have been amazing when it was occupied, it is still impressive and very calming.
  • love this place well signposted and a pleasure too look round telling you the history of the abbey and what happened to it in henry 8ths time well worth a visit even better when there are re eactors a...  more »

  • Watch the route in from the main road, there is a blind crested bridge in the first part and narrow roads thereafter, so drive slowly, we past a few walkers / hiker who could have been taken out if we'ed been driving faster. This is a great site, but you must be away that certain wall ruins have had grass allowed to grow on top to help conserve them, and this can make them hard to under stand, in particular the church outer wall's. Recommend grabbing the Audio guide and guide book.
  • An excellent place for a family. There is, however, not enough to keep small children entertained for more than a few hours. I don't recommend bringing children under seven years old or so because they probably won't care. If you or your children are interested in history and suchlike, this would be a very interesting place to visit. There's a gift shop with various souvenir-like items for sale.
  • Unspectacular but interesting and well worth a visit if you are in the area.
  • Beautiful place to visit, great area for spending an evening to, 29th June with Maria Whittington-Williams xx
  • Ruins and a shop... that's it... no cafe... hard to find
