  • RHS Hyde Hall is just wonderful. Get an annual RHS membership - it's worth the little extra, as it'll get you a year's free entry if you're local. It's such a wonderful, peaceful and beautiful set of gardens that it's well worth it. I've definitely made use of my visits and spent many hours enjoying and being inspired by the beautiful gardens and varied planting. In terms of facilities, there's a couple of restaurants/cafes on site - and like all "tourist attraction" food places, they're pricey for what they are, but the food is good. It's a gorgeous place to visit if you love gardens, and the garden centre has a huge selection of plants if you fancy taking something home. They also hold regular events, craft fairs and live shows - those of which I've managed to attend have been excellent. All in all, a great place to visit. Living in Chelmsford, it's close enough to just pop out to for a few hours relaxing in a peaceful garden. And now, for a cheesy quote about gardens: "How fair is a garden amid the trials and passions of existence." -Benjamin Disraeli He's right, though.
  • Lovely Gardens, shame its expensive for non RHS members.
  • Beautiful grounds with lots of space for kids to run around.
