One of the best gardens in south west Scotland and easily reached being just off the A75. A range of themed gardens and an excellent visitor centre with restaurant
Fabulous place to visit always something to see no matter the season. Coffee shop is great too with a good choice of food and friendly staff.
We are fairly regular visitors to Threave Gardens and we looked forward to enjoying another visit yesterday. We started with lunch after a long journey North and were tempted by the Jam and Cream scones as a dessert. Sadly the scones did not live up to our expectations and were a complete let-down from the usual standards at Threave. Hard as rocks and stale, we left them after they resisted all attempts with a knife and fork to sample them. We didn't complain but the experience coloured the visit in an unfavourable way. .
I have never been into the house so cannot comment on that. The gardens are beautiful and worth a visit if your are a National Trust member
