  • A lovely garden in the heart of southwest Scotland. The visitor centre includes a gift shop and cafeteria. Not far away, the stable block provides a small snack bar and more toilets. The garden consis...  more »

  • The gardens whilst not at their finest in October are relaxing, beautiful and always interesting. The presence of water cascading adds a pleasing twist to any visit. Try it for yourself!
  • Have been visiting Threave Gardens for many years in all seasons. A beautiful garden that has developed and changed over the years. The daffodil bank in the spring is spectacular. The walled garden never fails to delight. We've seen bats swooping down to the pond taking a drink and have often seen red squirrels. The woodland walk is lovely and you are virtually guaranteed to see a red squirrel on the feeders when you sit in the bird hide, along with a variety of small birds. It's well worth going on a guided tour of the house.
  • Regular visitor here, to ring in the seasons. Seems expensive, but join the national trust and you have earned your money back in a couple of visits, and have free entry to hundreds of other places too! Check out "Events" at Threave. The annual open air theatre event, is not to be missed. What better way to spend a summer evening than in a deck chair, with a bottle of poo and picnic watching a"Midsummer nights dream" in glorious garden surroundings....awesome! They lose a star for the cafe though....despite what others have said, I think they could do better. Limited range of cakes and snacks, and eye wateringly expensive. Take a picnic!
  • A very pleasant garden with a good mixture of planting styles and plants. Nice cafes available with a good menu selection.
  • Beautiful and interesting place with lots of rare and unusual plants. Visited in the height of summer so the colours were wonderful.
