(4.7/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
In a storybook setting, Castle Combe Village has a reputation as one of England prettiest villages. Walking tours will direct you to ancient, Cotswold-type homes, properties so old they are recognized as ancient monuments. Many of the 350 residents are direct descendants to those who founded it during medieval times. Remains of the original marketplace and dismount stations for horse riders lend a charm to the area, recognized by film producers who have used it as a backdrop to "War Horse" and "Stardust." Strict rules apply to maintain its beauty and status as a wildlife preserve. • The impression that this hamlet of fairy tales. Such cottages and is the England. When you walk along the street and it seems that now comes out Miss Marple. Touching pies sold per pound without the seller. The coin should throw in a special box. In the village of gorgeous, charming hotel and very tasty restaurant. Near beautiful manor with a huge oak tree on the Emerald field. Without this village England would not be Britain.

  • Lovely village used in TV and films. Two nice inns plus a luxury hotel, but not much else. A good starting point for a number of walks in the area.
