I played the championship course in early Oct 2013. The weather was fantastically nasty. Wet, windy, raining all day, and fairly cool temp. Had an exceptional day. I have waited almost 4 years but am returning in a few weeks and have my tee time pre booked. Cannot wait to play in much better conditions but regardless of the weather i look forward to playing once more on this outstanding golf course.
My first trip to Scotland was incredible, St. Andrews was great but something about Carnoustie was spellbinding, the design, the location everything about the experience there still gives me goosebumps when I think of it, I was just so impressed with the whole Carnoustie experience. I hope to return someday to the truly magical place.
Beautiful hotel especially if you are a golfer. Highly recommended.
Championship course is amazing and also played the buddon which is also quite challenging. Both great courses and great weekend.
You cannot not play this magnificent golf course if you are over in Scotland for golf. There's a reason so many nick name it Carnasty! A wonderful little town a nice hotel on site as well.
