  • You can see this tower for miles around. Made the effort to find it. Watch the road it is narrow and to locals speed around it. But worth the drive for the views. Costs nothing to visit.
  • Lovely place for a beautiful scenery across Carmarthenshire good for a picnic when the weather is lovely. The only thing I found was a bit of a walk to the tower if you are a disable person.
  • WE visited on a nice dry sunny morning. The walk to the tower is through a field which slopes as you approach the tower you are able to go inside the tower and walk up a spiral staircase to the first l...  read more »
  • I used to see this tower regularly from the road to Dryswlyn and always intended to visit it. I made the trip today and was not disappointed. The tower is set on its own in a large field, and is exposed to the elements - Go on a nice day! It has a panoramic view of the valley below and you can see all the way to Llandeilo. The tower itself is well kept, however today the gate leading to the upper levels was locked unfortunately. Take a pair of binoculars with you and a good camera - There's a lot to take in!
  • Great views from here, you can see from the botanical gardens all down the flood plain to Dinefwr castle. Only the tower though, nothing else here
  • Access to the tower is available 24/7 but when I visited the first floor was padlocked shut.
  • Paxtons Tower overlooks the valleys below, and the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. I visited on a wet and windy day, which spoilt the views somewhat. Access to the tower is open, and you can ascend to the second floor to enjoy the panoramic views. It's off the beaten track, but the area is lovely and the National Trust are doing a good job of keeping it tidy and well looked after. Car Park on left just before cottage.
  • I spent my childhood looking out of my bedroom window at paxton tower and it used to get my imagination going and started my passion and curiosity with castles and old buildings,if you go up to the first floor on a really windy day you get an incredible feeling which seams to make your stress of the day disappear,a place to remember
