  • Visited as a family with a 6year old who loves castles. He had a lovely time exploring. It is quite a short trip which we managed to get around in an hour and half.  more »
  • I'm near the area, and my partner wanted to go to the castle. From past experiences I thought it would be boring but it is actually not at all. It's such a great cheap attraction for all the family, o...  more »
  • Still wonderful, still imposing, still dramatic....I cannot understand why this castle is always so quiet! It is by far the best preserved castle in SW Wales. Do go - highly recommended.  more »

  • A lovely slice of history - would have been nice to see more restoration work or artists' interpretations of the building in more detail, however what you see is a very real example of a castle ravaged by war and time. The grounds have been kept very neat and the staff in the ticket office/shop were warm and welcoming.
  • A nice example of a Welsh castle. We were allowed to take our dogs around as long as they stayed on ground level. It takes about 2 hours to see the whole castle properly.
  • Brilliant fun, a massive castle with lots of towers to climb and explore. Not for the faint of heart, especially on a wet Welsh day, to go to the top of the tower. The big surprise in the courtyard is excellent, especially when he breathes fire
  • Beautiful castle, few rooms underground, walk paths on castle walls, stairs to get into different levels. A lot to see really I was very surprised. A lovely day out.
  • Wonderful well kept castle great views pity it has not been restored more as I am sure it would be wonderful completed as it was 800 years ago. Well done CADW keep up the great work that your doing, please look at doing a full reconstruction on some of our great castles in wales they are a great part of our history.
