Welcome to The World of Boats at Cardiff Bay. The Exhibition features some of the World's most fascinating boats set in a unique quayside location in Cardiff Bay. The exhibition is video hosted by TV's Dick Strawbridge who explains the evolution of boats from primitive dug-out canoes to hi-tech modern craft. Touchscreens and displays explain Propulsion, Navigation and some of the famous boats from history. In the Boat Lab area you can see first-hand the process of restoration and get more insight into how boats work.

  • The World of Boats is located close to the Cardiff Bay Barrage and next to the Doctor Who Experience. The collection of boats is interresting, well presented, but quite small for the money they charge...  more »

  • Good to talk with the volunteer boat restorers. Very expensive café with prices dearer than London!!!

  • Love coming here to sing sea shanties! When our group comes we're always made to feel welcome, and the food's apparently good. Great display of the boats (if not a bit limited), but very atmospheric to sing shanties amongst them!
  • Great food...breathtaking view...chilled...friendly relaxed staff
  • Fantastic museum. Friendly staff and great exhibition. Particular highlight was being able to sit outside in the sun next to the Anglia Pipedream having a coffee. Will definitely visit again. Many thanks. Chris.
