Welcome to The World of Boats at Cardiff Bay. The Exhibition features some of the World's most fascinating boats set in a unique quayside location in Cardiff Bay. The exhibition is video hosted by TV's Dick Strawbridge who explains the evolution of boats from primitive dug-out canoes to hi-tech modern craft. Touchscreens and displays explain Propulsion, Navigation and some of the famous boats from history. In the Boat Lab area you can see first-hand the process of restoration and get more insight into how boats work.

We spent a pleasant half hour here, but that was about as long as you could stretch it out for. We're really into boats and the workshop was really interesting but I'm not sure it would hold the atten...  more »

  • Stopped here for a drink after walking the barrage. Nice outdoor seating area, drinks were a bit pricey.
  • Birthday treat + first visit for my late husband. He loved seeing all the boats + enjoyed the deck cafe overlooking the bay. A lovely memory to sustain us. So glad I took him there
  • Love coming here to sing sea shanties! When our group comes we're always made to feel welcome, and the food's apparently good. Great display of the boats (if not a bit limited), but very atmospheric to sing shanties amongst them!
  • Great food...breathtaking view...chilled...friendly relaxed staff
  • Fantastic museum. Friendly staff and great exhibition. Particular highlight was being able to sit outside in the sun next to the Anglia Pipedream having a coffee. Will definitely visit again. Many thanks. Chris.
