Principality Stadium, Cardiff

4.7
Since opening in June 1999, the Stadium has welcomed, on average, over 1.3 million visitors per year. Sporting the first fully-retractable roof in the UK, the venue is at the leading edge as a multi-purpose, multi-faceted event venue.

The Stadium boasts a UEFA 5-Star rating and has hosted matches from two Rugby World Cups including the Final in 1999, witnessed two Wales Grand Slam successes in the RBS Six Nations, staged six showpiece FA Cup Finals plus hosted the major artists of the music business with a plethora of major concerts and motorsports events on its CV.

The installation of a partition drape system in July 2005 now means that the bowl of the Millennium Stadium can be used for multiple concert mode configurations and for staging exhibitions. Millennium Stadium will also play its part in the London 2012 Olympics as a host venue for the football competition.

The stadium renamed to Principality Stadium following a partnership with Principality Building Society on January 22nd 2016.

  • We go to this venue as often as we can, especially for the rugby. Because it's situated in the middle of the city, you get an atmosphere second to none. If you go to a concert here, there's not a bad ...  more »
  • A unique Stadium, the tour that offers exhaustive of all historical and architectural details of the stadium. The view you have from the field on all the stands is amazing. You have a chance to get into the royal box to take a picture with the Cup.

  • I made the mini tour, the guide was very explanatory about all the details and anecdotes of the structure, very interesting part about hospitality area and entertaining the Royal box with attached photos with FIFA ... to experience a thrill of a champion.

  • Amazing atmosphere. Security was thorough but not inconvenient. Well laid out. Nice food and drink inside. Prices as usual in these places are a rip off but to be expected.
  • Absolutely fantastic stadium seating, well equipped to cope with full attendance. Great feeling and atmosphere with the roof closed. hopefully go back for Wales international match soon.
  • The home of Welsh Rugby delivers an experience like no other stadium. You have to go to understand it. People super friendly no matter who you support. Defy yo not to be moved by the atmosphere and singing. You feel close to the pitch. Only downside - disgusting toilets never cleaned or maintained during the games I have been too.
  • Excellent tour of the ground which included dressing rooms and preparation areas for the match. Also saw trophy collection. Saw view from presidents box. Walked down the players tunnel down to the pitch. Excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable. Well worth the money.
  • We had a lovely day at the Stadium to see the Speedway. We used the Park and Ride East Cardiff and it was all efficient and easy both ways, just a bit of a queue at both ends but it was a fast moving queue. We found it easy to pick up our tickets for our event- though got there early at 1330. Went in the pub across the road for lunch and then went to the stadium. There was a bit of a queue for security checks. Inside was all good. We had a seat up high but had a great view. Speedway event was just fabulous and there was an outstanding firework display at the end. Leaving was easy. Toilets were good.
