Principality Stadium, Cardiff

4.6
Since opening in June 1999, the Stadium has welcomed, on average, over 1.3 million visitors per year. Sporting the first fully-retractable roof in the UK, the venue is at the leading edge as a multi-purpose, multi-faceted event venue.

The Stadium boasts a UEFA 5-Star rating and has hosted matches from two Rugby World Cups including the Final in 1999, witnessed two Wales Grand Slam successes in the RBS Six Nations, staged six showpiece FA Cup Finals plus hosted the major artists of the music business with a plethora of major concerts and motorsports events on its CV.

The installation of a partition drape system in July 2005 now means that the bowl of the Millennium Stadium can be used for multiple concert mode configurations and for staging exhibitions. Millennium Stadium will also play its part in the London 2012 Olympics as a host venue for the football competition.

The stadium renamed to Principality Stadium following a partnership with Principality Building Society on January 22nd 2016.

  • Ok so I’m a little biased as I love welsh rugby and I’ve been to the stadium a number of times BUT recently the security has been upped massively so I thought it best to comment. Leave plenty of time ...  more »

  • What a fantastic Stadium. My wife our Granddaughter and I were on holiday in Cardiff. We all took the tour, and it was brilliant. Despite the fact I'm Irish we all enjoyed it. Particularly when we were down in the tunnel they had the crowd cheering on the speakers it even made me feel emotional. The girl taking us round was brilliant. Thank you for a great tour.
  • The Principality is a great stadium. It's easy to find once you get into Cardiff and the staff I've had dealings with have always been friendly and helpful. Access has always been reasonably quick. On my multiple visits, I've never had a pitchside seat but have found that the cheaper seats all afford a decent view of the pitch. I would recommend trying to get a ticket for Wales rugby at least once to sample the atmosphere with the massed ranks of rugby fans in full voice. Even more so if the roof happens to be closed. Never had an issue at exit time either, other than traffic getting out of Cardiff, but that is to be expected!!
  • We've been here twice in the last few months for the 2 Anthony Joshua fights. Great venue. Plenty of bars by the looks of it!😉Haven't been bothered to find where the food is but I can tell from other people there is food served there. There's plenty of staff there so you get into the venue quickly, the security checks don't take long even if you've got a handbag. We went end of October and weren't cold. We went end of March and it was freezing! The roof was closed both times. Cardiff is a great city to come to, you'll enjoy. Just make sure you get your transport sorted in advance cos both times the taxi queues have been insane!!!😲
  • Had a lovely time watching the Six Nations. I would love to go again depending on health conditions. Best moment was meeting A Wyn Jones my little bomb as I call him. Great time. Also would like to Thank all the staff for there help understanding and generosity. Amazing.
  • One of the best stadiums for the supporters, great passion and atmosphere. The roof was closed for the game. Friendly staff although not very knowledgeable and some are quite lazy. I would recommend going if you have never been to watch a rugby match. Had a great day. Oh and the Welsh make the English very welcome!!! Thanks for a great day out.
