  • Not happy with the change of drinks. a 2 Pint of beer costing £10.00 not only encourages you to drink more, but also holding your beer during the performance, getting warm isn't pleasant. You cant put...  more »

  • Always great events in the Motorpoint from concerts to conventions I always end up coming back. The building is large enough but doesn't make you feel lost. The main floor is very spacious and can fit more people than expected. The place is very clean and staff are helpful
  • Not a bad venue. Not very big but that's not a negative, £6 for a Guinness & a bottle of water so prices not extortionate either. I think the security checks on entry could be improved as I didn't think they were very comprehensive/thorough. We watched John Legend, he was brilliant.
  • Don't really understand the positive reviews, especially for music gigs. The Motorpoint (and it's previous iteration - the CIA) was, is and as far as I can tell, will always be rubbish for music gigs. The sound is consistently atrocious. It's easy to get swept up in the moment of seeing your favourite band, but it is genuinely the worst music venue in Cardiff. It only gets bookings because of it's size, but I'd rather big bands just played at the Principality/Millennium stadium. I've seen too many gigs here and those bands have all sounded better elsewhere. I've just stopped going now. If they're coming to the Motorpoint, then they'll probably be in Bristol, so I'll just go there where I can hear them properly.
  • Great venue, now also officially people have taken to calling the Motorpoint, but it will always be the CIA, but just because of the airport, it was good to get a chance. Seen many bands here over the years, firstly was Stereophonics in 1999 up to Mumford & Sons in 2015 with a whole range in between; even Disney on Ice was on here. Such a diverse and well-centred venue, like most of Cardiff to be honest.
  • We watched Mickey Flanagan here and he was on top form...the venue however felt very dated and the seats were far too small and close together...i spent the whole evening practically cuddling the guy sat next to me! The seats were also very uncomfortable, we were there for nearly 3 hours and pretty numb afterwards. Better seating equals better reviews in my opinion.
