  • We visited on one of the monthly public open days for the first time despite living in Cardiff for nearly 9 years! We had a great time out, just me and my son (5) and daughter (1) who both had a good ...  more »
  • Scenic and extensive park offering a wide choice of activities, from playing organised games of rugby to admiring nature in all its glory.  more »
  • Went here to use the railway run by volunteers. Though it was absolutely heaving we still had a great time travelling on and watching the trains. A shame the trains don' run more frequently!  more »

  • Best place ever to walk your dog! Loads of like minded people, lots of dogs having fun. Woods and open spaces, play area's for kids, tennis courts not to mention golf. So much to do and see there.
  • Nice in closed play area for the kids to play in. Lots of open fields to play in and go for walks. There's a miniature railway close by. A nice place to spend a few hours with the family. Also there's free parking for the first 2 hours but still need to get a ticket.
  • Beautiful park area. Ideal for picnics and also family play. There is a well constructed children's play area with wooden climbing areas and obstacles. Also in the park is a local volunteer society who run a small gauge railway. This is brilliantly run by them. There are many small railway engines offering rides. I believe that this opens at weekends and bank holidays.
  • A bit too urban for my taste I like parks that let me pretend I'm in the countryside for a while. There are isolated spots where this is possible. However by and large this park is very overlooked by the neighbouring houses. On top of that it is dominated by playing fields which are often used for community events. No I'm not complaining about this I think this has a place. It's just if you want a countryside feel in the city I would recommend Bute Park (especially the further up the Taff trail you go, not so much the bottom end in town) would be a better option. If however you just want a green space to kick a ball with your kids this park is ideal and I would recommend it 100%. Also as it is flat it would be a good place to take Granny for a walk when she visits :)
  • Nice place to walk the dog.. good for tennis etc if you like that sort of thing..
