  • A curious Museum created with the collections of Mr Beaney (a rich merchant from Canterbury, who died at the end of the 19th century in Australia and was buried in Canterbury Cathedral) with adjoining cafeteria, library, we have seen a very nice mostrafotografica, admission is free.

  • Love this gallery, recently I've been visiting every time I go into town - reliable in any weather and free (but they do really appreciate donations)! The exhibitions change fairly regularly so always something new to see and every time I look around the permanent rooms I always discover something new. Would definitely recommend The Special Exhibition Room (looks closed from the outside but you have to press the button on the wall), it's my favourite room (and has good AC)!
  • Fantastic museum, art gallery, play area, tourist office, cafe, toilets. it really has it all, in a wonderful building too. Free of charge, it should be experienced, especially for young families as children can be kept occupied on the ground floor, whilst adults take it in turns to explore upstair. Cannot recommend it highly enough for young parents that want a moments respite.
  • THE BEANEY INSTITUTE IS GREAT AS STATED ON OTHER REVIEWS BRILL MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY. SADLY THE LIBRARY LAY OUT IS NOT SO RELAXING AS OTHER STATED LIBRARYS.TOO NOISY AND A BIT TOO NEAR THE BEANEY. THATS JUST MY OPINION. HOWEVER LIKE I SAY THE GENRAL MUSEUM AND GALLERY IS GREAT. AMAZING ART AND OTHER PUBLIC AREAS GREAT. JUST THE LIBRARY. A.AINSWORTH.
  • With free entry it's definitely worth a visit.
  • What I love about this place is that is entertaining, interactive, interesting, free and has clean toilets. Would recommend anyone who is visiting Canterbury on budget.
