  • I am generally not a fan of animals in cages and zoos in general, however I was pleasantly surprised. We visited on a weekend mid December on a lovely sunny day, due to the time of year it was nice an...  more »
  • We are regular visitors. Today was the first time all the lemurs have been active in the lemur experience, very interesting. Clouded leopards were beautiful, but one was pacing the cage which was unco...  more »
  • Although it is a zoo, it works as a sanctuary for animals that were rescued. Bone, it always possible (not all animals can be returned) the animals are returned to their environment. Why the same animals are not always seen. They have the largest group of mountain gorillas in captivity.

  • Howletts is a great day out for all the family. Animals are well kept with some great interactions with visitors. Play areas for children should they get bored with the long walk around the park; including a tree top climbing experience where the staff are excellent. There is a limited shuttle service provided free from the park to and from the local railway station, which was well utilised on our visit. Overall a great Animal Park and one of the best we have been to.
  • Great day out. Fabulous value for money. Food in the Pavilion Restaurant was excellent, plentiful portions, all perfectly cooked and no more expensive than McDonald's.
  • A decent day out; but not excellent. Pros: 1. Clean and today park; well maintained 2. Some really impressive enclosures. Animals looked happy! 3. Tigers, elephants and gorillas were all great to see Cons: 1. Expensive 2. Lacking in kids activities. The one free play area was quite limited for a 7 year old and a bit too advanced for a 3 year old. It was a weird mix. It just needs more for children to do as we walked around (it's a big place; lots of walking involved) 3. Too many monkeys! It felt like every other enclosure was Moloch Gibbons and it started to feel like there was nothing else.
  • Wanted a fast visit and ended up staying 3 hours. Nice pleasant park with rare animals that my son enjoyed very much.
  • A wide variety of endangered animals. Nice to go midweek whilst kids in school. Staff friendly and very informative
