The park makes it clear that this is all about the animals - they all appear to be well cared for, and given lots of space in which to roam or hide out of the sun. We went early and enjoyed watching t...  more »

  • One of the South East's best kept secrets. Awesome animal park, huge variety (lots of primates!) and very spacious with gardens and woods. Provides better opportunities to see Gorillas up close than London Zoo to be honest. So many types of deer all living together, some were like small horses!
  • This place is amazing!! Very scenic, calm and not very crowded. They have viewing spots available where you can sit and enjoy watching animals and listen to the timed talks. Plenty of seating available through out the park for picnics. Ice cream shops and cafes are available. Plenty of toilets are available too and were pretty much clean as I said the place is not very crowded usually. A good size gift shop with plenty of options available with various price range. A tree top adventure course is available on the site too. All in all, a highly recommended place to visit. A hidden gem I would say.
  • Always a great place to visit, rain or shine. I have been here both with my girlfriend and as part of a family day out - there is so much to see and if you like gorillas you'll be in for a real treat. The Aspinall family have supported conservation of gorillas for many, many years and the vast enclosures they have for them are incredible. Ticket prices are a little on the pricey side but as long as you intend to spend the day here it's well worth it. I recently purchased a tapir experience with Howlett's and my girlfriend and myself loved every minute - staff are very knowledgeable and fun to talk to. A great day out!
  • This is by far my favorite animal place to visit. Port lympe is good, but can be a little challenging for disabled due to its size and hills in places. Howletts is very flat, very easily accessible. The enclosures are of excellent quality, a I'm also have plenty of shade, water and places to hide when it's crowded and busy so the animals don't get stressed by it. There is always plenty of enrichment for the animals who always look very relaxed and happy. Love Howletts so much. The food is a little pricey but that is to be expected from establishments such as this.
  • I went yesterday with my daughter and her boyfriend I found the set out for the animals a good size plenty to do for them but some were empty which was disappointing also I was upset by a director being rude to a keeper in front of us while she was watching a new baby separated from it's mother and worried it might fall from a high branch. My high lite of the day was being really close to a Gorilla being fed it was something I will always remember. Lin...Brighton.
