  • Good place for a picnic and relax before or when you finish your visit of Canterbury and its in the center so you don't have to way far from the city to escape.
  • These extensive gardens are walled and provide a walkway from Canterbury East railway station into the centre of the town. They are well maintained and teem with small birds life - we saw long-tailed ...  more »

  • Nice little park. Not too much to do though. Great small cafe with BBQ at weekends.
  • I have marked this place down as it is usually very busy after school and in the summer, I would avoid these midday/afternoon in the summer if you want some quiet. It is a nice place hang out if you are young or to stop for lunch however I wouldn't plan my day around visiting this place. There is a small maze for children to play in and the "mound" of and old Mott and Bailey castle provides great views over the city. There is a wonderful food fair here in the summer that is worth looking out for but other than that it is just a park. There is a small kiosk selling ice creams, tea and some foods. There are benches, a bandstand, a fountain and flower beds to enjoy. You can walk along the city wall just next to the park for a better view of the outer city or to get to the train station.
  • Not sure if it's a permanent feature, but at the moment the park cafe has been transformed into Don Juan - Sabor Latino. Run by two South Americans, the offer includes brilliant authentic Spanish and Latin American food and drinks. Go now, in case it doesn't last!
  • Well kept park with lots of space on either side of the main path. Often used for events.
  • Lovely place to spend the Day and lots of great events held here. Avoid at night as there can be some strange people around.
