The River Cam, Cambridge

4.7
#1 of 14 in Parks in Cambridge
Water Body Nature / Park
Relax along the The River Cam while watching punts (a long, narrow flat-bottomed boat) and other rowing vessels go by. This main river flowing through Cambridge in eastern England is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Take in the punting from afar or opt for a guided trip, so that you can admire the architecture, spot the Mathematical Bridge, or learn some history of the various colleges. Note that although it may seem expensive to take a punt out, the ideal shallow, gravelly conditions make it worthwhile. Spring and summer are the best times to visit, but be prepared for crowds.
