  • You get so much more out of a museum when you have guides. Our guides clearly loved what they do. They each had a passion for a different part of mining, some for the technical, some for the...  more »

  • Fantastic afternoon to be had here - the area is steeped in heritage and history, with the guided tour taking you to see how Cornish mines operated, as well as how the workers extracted the metal from the ore. The staff are fantastic and have a vast knowledge of the mine workings in the area, and dive into the details as to how King Edwards operated. Can be walked to by the Great Flat Lode Trail, highly recommended!
  • We visited as a family yesterday and it was brilliant! All visitors are taken round by a personal guide which is great - their knowledge of the history of mining and the local area makes it extremely interesting. Both our girls found the tour fascinating and it was actually quite nice that it was all above ground - at their ages (9 and 4), an underground trip is more challenging! Thank you for the brilliant guided tour!
  • A very interesting look at Cornwall's mining heritage complete with a guided tour around a tin mill with demonstrations of working machinery. The site is not too large but there is plenty to see and we spent quite a few hours taking in the information. Sadly some of external tour was cut short as the weather was atrocious but there was still plenty to take in once indoors. If you have an interest in Cornwall's mining heritage make sure you put a visit to this excellent museum high on your list!
  • Very interesting place with very knowledgeable and welcoming staff 👍
  • Great tour with Dave who was very knowledgeable and a friendly guy. Learnt more here than any other mine we've been to.
