  • A small castle, with stairs up to towers and extended grounds. We had good fun exploring it on a dank afternoon visit. The tea room is welcome. Kids should enjoy it, there is a fair bit of history and...  more »
  • It's not a large castle by any means but if you're nearby it's worth a look. There's plenty of parking available before you walk up the little hill to the entrance to the grounds. Entry is based on an...  more »

  • I love this place. It's so beautiful. 2 towers to climb with beautiful views. The grounds are really well kept. There's a cosey little cafĂ© with reasonable prices and a little gift shop. Giant chess and connect 4 games, plenty of picnic tables, and best of all entry is free!
  • Beautiful castle, I love walking the dog around the moat. The Welsh perry and cider festival is amazing in the summer and the fireworks for bonfire night are gorgeous!
  • It's a bit difficult to find (the castle sign on the road is small) but it's great that it's out of the way and off the beaten path. Inside there is a tiny gift shop and a small cafe. There isn't much in the way of signage and information about the history of the castle. But, it lends itself very well to an afternoon picnic on the grounds.
  • It was free today, and had a great welcome from staff. Beautiful historic buildings.
  • Spoiled by Status Quo, we were unable to gain access to the park by car as they were setting up for a Status Quo gig several days later (pre-planning would have given visitors access to the virtually empty car par by the castle). having spent 30 minute finding a suitable safe spot to park. everything else was great. lovely castle and park area, nice tea room / bar, and plenty to see and keep kid's entertained.
