  • Really good day out. Spent about 2 hours here exploring. Free parking and free to get in. We were able to walk up the tall buildings such as the keep. The stairs are very narrow and winding but the vi...  more »

  • I love this place. It's so beautiful. 2 towers to climb with beautiful views. The grounds are really well kept. There's a cosey little cafĂ© with reasonable prices and a little gift shop. Giant chess and connect 4 games, plenty of picnic tables, and best of all entry is free!
  • Beautiful castle, I love walking the dog around the moat. The Welsh perry and cider festival is amazing in the summer and the fireworks for bonfire night are gorgeous!
  • It's a bit difficult to find (the castle sign on the road is small) but it's great that it's out of the way and off the beaten path. Inside there is a tiny gift shop and a small cafe. There isn't much in the way of signage and information about the history of the castle. But, it lends itself very well to an afternoon picnic on the grounds.
  • It was free today, and had a great welcome from staff. Beautiful historic buildings.
  • Spoiled by Status Quo, we were unable to gain access to the park by car as they were setting up for a Status Quo gig several days later (pre-planning would have given visitors access to the virtually empty car par by the castle). having spent 30 minute finding a suitable safe spot to park. everything else was great. lovely castle and park area, nice tea room / bar, and plenty to see and keep kid's entertained.
