  • Been here for bike rides with my kids and walking the dog, shame the council now charge to park, but in all a nice place to spend the afternoon out with the kids in the fresh air
  • An great place to walk or run. You can let your dogs run free, if they are friendly. Beautiful scenery and lakes, fishing also. There are many daring cycle tracks.
  • This used to be an old coal mine. There is a wonderful earth sculpture in the form of Sultan the horse.
  • Plenty of walking, not really busy, nice views down the valleys. Parking is £1 for 2hrs (3 for disabled), dog friendly. Very relaxing and of course Sultan the Pony is something special to see. Fairly easy access for disabled but wheelchair users may struggle with uneven paths.
  • The metal structure pictured is actually an elaborate lightning conductor embeded in a carbon (a good conductor) rich mining waste surface. One of many tall metalic structures being erected strategicly under the guise of 'art'. It's why they are thought necessary that worries me. Research 'electrical universe' for more information.
  • good trip out
