  • I love history and the little town just outside Newport, has it in spades. It has a museum and the Roman Baths as well the as the fort and arena. It's a lovely place to visit for the day.
  • Really beautiful, heat history. The signage is well done and there's a lot of information provided.
  • Great experience for all ages. Definitely worth leaving the motorway to explore this site. Children will love this. A must for those who love history
  • What a gem of a place, the entire village is a treasure trove of Roman goodies. A little but very interesting museum, a fantastic building that contains the remains of the Roman baths and sports arena, then the amazingly intact amphitheatre! If you have an interest in Roman artefacts and history in general, this is a great place to visit. The kids should like it too, especially the interactive parts!
  • I wish there were ten stars as I want to give it more! This place is amazing. I visited the baths, the ampitheatre and the barracks which were all very close to each other. I also visited the museum and saw loads of history there too. The baths were shown with a light effect on the white gravel which looked like water at first glance. There was sound effects too so you could hear splashing noises and close your eyes and feel you were there. There were plenty of interactive displays for both children and adults alike. The ampitheatre had whole sections, although buried and you could walk in amongst it. This gave a feeling of being the centre of attention and battling in the arena in those days. The barracks were ruins but there was enough left so you could see the layout and imagine the sizes of the shared rooms and level of workmanship. This is a must see, you won't be disappointed
