Pleasant day out and can be combined with a walk up to Solomon's Temple. Half day only needed for Cavern. Cave experience is about an hour , make sure you take an extra layer for the cave if is a nice...  more »

An unexpectedly good cave tour after a last minute addition to our day. We've been to quite a few cave tours such as the Gouffre caves in the Dordogne. These don't come quite up to those standards, bu...  more »

Yes, it's a cave. It's underground and full of the usual formations you find in a cave. I've visited many caves and can confirm this is a cave too. However. The guide ( Ashley ?) was informative, funn...  more »

  • Really polite staff, very easy to get on a tour, and excellently executed and interesting walk and talk. The caves are well lit enough that you can see everything interesting and walk about safely, but not so well lit that you forget you are in a deep cave. The paths were wet but in our experience not slippery. The walk is mostly on slopes with few steps and lots of handrails. Clean toilets. Remember to bring a coat because it gets very chilly in the cave. A very enjoyable experience!
  • This is an awesome experience with or without children. The tour of the cavern is brilliant where you explore the dark, mysterious and untouched beauty of the Buxton's underground cavern and how people used to live there centuries ago. The tour guides do a great job explaining the natural formations and you certainly learn a thing or two about history and geology when you're down there. The highlight (or lowlight) is the temperature - as it remains at a constant 7 degrees whatever the weather outside. So dress warm for the tour even in the summer!
  • Really interesting tour by very well informed and likeable guide. Beautiful formations in the cave. Suitable for little ones, quite easy walking and do-able with a buggy at a push, although there are a few steps.
  • I enjoyed it here. The tour really isn't that long and the cavern isn't that large. Price isn't too bad but still a little expensive for the half hour it takes to wall in and out. There are soon woods nearby so come when the weather is good and there's more to do. Pay and display.
  • Nice cafe, dog friendly. Nice walks in the trees and a good view from Solomon's Temple. The history of the cave is interesting too.
