  • We visited the hall, primarily looking for somewhere to get a cup of tea. It was a pleasant little walk around some artisan shops. Proprietors were very welcoming, without pressure sales. We had tea a...  more »
  • A really interesting and unusual venue with small Artisan shops to look at and an excellent cafe offering a good selection of food. Well worth a visit.  more »

  • As a historic attraction, the building is more interesting than the nearby castles (including Penrith castle). The cafe is a great, but small, place to have afternoon coffee and cake. The pottery and arts venues are definitely more artsy than commercial, enjoyed browsing but the prices were steep.
  • More artsy than commercial or even touristy. Local artists, potters, a tea house, and a salon in a medieval hall with green space in the middle. There is outdoor seating and my toddler loved walking around on the lawn. A wonderful way to spend a few hours.
  • Great place. Good craft shops, although I think some more improvements could be made. The cafe was excellent, food lovely & a warm welcome was given to us & our dog on a rainy day. Thank you.
  • Looked for this place because of the curious door knocker mentioned in a book. But as well as that we found a very interesting place with some history. It is in the process of being renovated and this will take time (and a lot of money) there is no charge to go into the grounds but a donation is welcome. In the grounds you will find potters workshops a gallery and a cafe. Take a look.
