Brora Golf Club, Brora

Golf Course Outdoor Activity
Established in 1891, Brora Golf Club boasts a long history and beautiful grounds, from which you can admire neighboring castles and villages. The nine-hole course has a traditional out and back links layout, set against the North Sea coastline with open views over the water. Be advised that the winds sometimes get very strong here, and that sheep and cows may be wandering the course. While the attraction's not one of the country's toughest or most well-known courses, its greens are a challenge to read and playing to a handicap would be a real achievement. A clubhouse is also on site. Plan to visit Brora Golf Club and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended Brora attractions using our Brora trip itinerary maker.

  • The Brora Golf Course was one of our favorites in Scotland. The day we visited it was not busy at all and we were able to play at a steady pace. The course is alongside the sea and the views are gorge...  more »
  • Classic Braid layout. Pity about the electric fences round the greens - The poor quality greens with large areas of broad leaf grasses - The 5 hour round - The astronomical green fee of £62. Very poor...  more »

  • We're on our third independent golf tour of Scotland. This is our second visit to Brora. We absolutely love this course. The sheep and cows roam freely so the greens are protected by electric wire. Watch out and step carefully over as you prepare to putt. The gently rolling hills punctuated by a burn, many great views of the ocean along the front nine holes, and the most fabulous finishing hole in all of golf, make this course a gem. Bye the five course pass and get a great discount!
