Glenside hospital museum was a very informative experience. There was a vast array of information regarding patients and staff who had previously worked within the hospital and explanations of many treatments which were used. The information and often some of the devices used in practice could be rather disturbing at times, especially the padded cell. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in the history of nursing/mental health care. The museum ultimately showed me how far the nursing profession has developed in only a few decades, however it highlighted the similarities between treatments today, which made me feel that nursing still has much further to progress as a profession.
